I was born in Miami, FL and spent most of my early years overseas in Germany and SE Asia. I am truly grateful for that experience because I have seen so much more in this world than most people. These experiences helped shape my character, exposed me to cultures and music of all types. It makes me whom I am today.
I performed my first paid DJ gig at the ripe age of 13 in 1976. I love music and I love working out great segues and entertaining because I just love the music.
I was a resident DJ at several clubs and venues in the 1980’s thru the late 1990’s.
My actual first steady gig was being a DJ in a biker bar in Richmond Virginia spinning Rock and Roll for a few years in 1983/84. It was fun.
In 1987 I became friends with a couple of DJ’s that showed me all the ropes on beat mixing dance music on vinyl. My highlight in those early days was being the resident on-air DJ in a nightclub on Solomon’s Island, Maryland doing one of the earliest live weekly mix shows from a club on FM radio.
I grew up mixing on vinyl and I much prefer using controllers that mimic this such as the Denon SC6000Ms.
I started doing online shows around 2003 in the genre of “vocal trance” and have over 230+ shows out there somewhere. I ended up doing online shows because my creative side needed an outlet while I was not performing live. My main platform for these shows has been Digitally Imported Radio (DI.FM) and more recently, AH.FM
You can find some of my older vocal trance mixes on youtube (posted by others) under my old DJ name “Martin in the Mix”. You can also find my Angelix and Vocal Trance Nation shows on DI.FM and on Archives.org.
It is now 2025 and ended up doing a number private weddings and events over the past few years. I have decided to get back into live DJing here in Southwest Florida on a full time basis. I have an extensive catalogue of music that spans most every genre and decade. I also have an extensive inventory of lighting, sound and DJ controllers that are available for rent. Get in touch if I can help you with your event.
Kind Regards,
Martin
